Advocate contains two active ingredients, Imidacloprid and Moxidectin, which disrupt the parasite's central nervous system. This results in paralysis and death of the parasites. Because it works on contact, fleas do not need to bite your dog for the treatment to be effective.
Preparation: Remove the pipette from the package, hold it upright, and pull off the cap.
Positioning: Ensure your dog is standing comfortably. Part the fur between the shoulder blades at the base of the neck until the skin is visible.
Application: Place the tip of the open pipette on the bare skin and squeeze the entire contents onto the spot.
Drying: Allow the site to dry completely. Do not allow children or other pets to groom the treated dog until the area is dry.
Heartworm Testing: It is essential to have your pet tested for existing heartworm infections by a vet before starting treatment.
Age Limit: Do not apply to puppies younger than 7 weeks of age.
